Prince cluster is operating normally today
The new HPC /archive is now available on the Prince and Dumbo login nodes.
Since /archive has been migrated to new hardware with a new file system, there are some setup changes.
(1) Folder structures are changed from /archive/NetID to /archive/First_Letter_in_NetID/NetID, for example
The environment variable $ARCHIVE is setup correctly for the new /archive folders. So if you always use the variable, no change is required. However, you may need to logout and log back in before you will get the new value of $ARCHIVE.
All valid HPC users should have /archive folders available now. If not, please let us know.
There is no convenient way to check /archive disk usage for users now. Please do not run the Linux command du to check your whole /archive folder if you have a large number of files.
(2) We are working to re-establish the data sharing setup on the new archive. If you experience any issues with sharing files on the new archive, please let us know and we’ll help to setup data sharing on the new /archive.
(3) A full backup of the new /archive data is not finished yet. We can not guarantee to recover data from /archive before the full back finishes.
Please login to the prince or dumbo cluster to check your /archive folders from a login node, if you need any help, please let us know.
